Growing up in Estes Park, I have spent my entire life surrounded by natural beauty. On summer days I wake up to the sound of birds chirping in Aspen trees, as a slight breeze stirs thick foliage. At night, stars fill the sky, twinkling like a million fireflies, blown adrift in the harsh winds of the Rocky Mountains. In the winter months, a light dusting of snow caresses the barren landscape, creating a smooth blanket over dead branches and fallen leaves. Longs Peak arches through thick clouds, a distant and impenetrable spire amidst calm woodsy desolation. These mountainous surroundings have become deeply ingrained into my very being. They are a part of who I am, a part of my soul. But despite this, I never take the mountains for granted. When I venture into the wilderness, the incredible beauty of nature fills my senses, coursing through my veins. In the following photos, my goal is to capture this frisson, which sweeps throughout my body, as I traverse through Mother Nature’s incredible creation. Enjoy!
