I’ve traveled to Alaska five times, and each trip has been truly an amazing adventure. My dad is quite the outdoorsman. He has scaled 1,000 foot rock faces, floated down remote rivers, backpacked into the wilderness and hunted Big Horn Sheep on narrow mountain passes. Alaska is one of his favorite places to hunt and fish. Being his son, I’ve been lucky to accompany him on his Alaskan fishing trips. We first take a small bush plane 100 miles into the Alaskan backcountry. Upon arriving at a remote lake, we assemble the pontoon rafts and the gear. The rest of the trip is spent floating 60 miles down a wilderness river, while fishing for a variety of salmon. These are some of my best photos from these Alaskan adventures. I feel that they strongly capture the rugged beauty of the bush country, and bring to life the unbelievable experience of floating down a remote wilderness river.
